Steamy in Seattle 2025

May 10 @ 12:00 pm 2:30 pm

Meet authors Ann Aguirre and Elizabeth Stephens as they discuss the alien romance genre, science fiction and fantasy worlds, and what writing romance has taught them! Paranormal romance author Jasmine Silvera to moderate.

Join us at Seattle’s beautiful Nordic Museum for a traditional high tea, featuring a delightful selection of savory finger sandwiches, scones, salad, and delectable sweet treats catered by Lovely Night Catering — and a custom tea blend provided by Friday Afternoon Tea

Time to pick out your favorite fascinators and elegant gowns to wear or get your fedora ready in preparation for this utterly romantic opportunity to support the literary arts!

This event is not just a fundraiser; it’s a celebration of emerging and underrepresented writers — particularly women in the field of speculative fiction. Steamy in Seattle raises money for our annual programs, sliding scale tuition, and scholarship programs.

We hope you’ll consider supporting Clarion West by attending the tea, supporting the silent auction, or making a gift in lieu of attending.

Masks encouraged.

Ann Aguirre

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Ann Aguirre has been a clown, a clerk, a savior of stray kittens, and a voice actress, not necessarily in that order. She loves video games, Korean dramas, music, dogs and cats, and staring at the sea. Though she writes all kinds of genre fiction, she has a major soft spot for a happily ever after.

Elizabeth Stephens

Tough heroines & possessive Alphas solve mysteries, fight epic battles, and fall in love in Elizabeth’s diverse romance & SciFi novels.

Elizabeth Stephens stands holding a large stack of her books.

Elizabeth Stephens has been living in a fantasy world since she was 11, and in 2015 finally translated her imagination to print! An author of romantic suspense and science fiction, she is a big fan of inclusion and her books always include kick ass ladies of color.

Books by both authors will be on sale at the event.

The Elliot Bay Book Company is partnering with Clarion West for this event. Copies of I Think I’m In Love With An Alien by Ann Aguirre and special edition Taken to Voraxia paperbacks by Elizabeth Stephens are available for pre-purchase with your ticket or you can purchase these and other books by the authors at the event. Find books by Ann already available at Elliott Bay here. Find books by Elizabeth on her website here. VIP tickets come with one book included.
