Excerpt

Deep Shadows hid behind an even darker shadow. A tall figure stood perfectly still unable to believe that he had breached the void that separated two realms; it was the one place that he had sought for eons of his existence and somehow he had gained an impossible entry. Still, it was only a momentary satisfaction; the reality of his situation had not diminished itself by his small show of power. His dark gaze stretched out into the vast realm that in itself held beauty, but to this dark imposing figure; beauty held no favoritism within his mind. In fact he loathed the idea of its suggestion. ‘life held no beauty; it was violent, savage, and dark. He was living proof to its testament!’ A slight wind blew past, and it caused him to shift in appearance. Undaunted by his inability to maintain his form, he simply reappeared, taking shape yet again upon the riverbank. It was only then as the dimming moonlight began to fade that the figure’s true form revealed itself ~ it was a wraith, a ghostly apparition. He held no solid substance to remind anyone that he was real. The shadow of its making blended perfectly between that which was dark and light. Only the early dawn interrupted the lone figure’s thoughts as an unnatural mist wrapped itself low against the riverbanks. The chill in the air was unmistakably masked by an even colder wind that had not been created from the surrounding atmosphere. Sunrise was only moments away, as the birds and insects chirped excitedly awaiting its coming. But, not all that came awake anticipated the light of dawn nor cared one way or another if the sun that rose from the direction of the Red moon and settled toward its twin sister the Blue moon would do so from one turn of its sphere till the next. This land was inaccessible to the creature that chose the realms of dreams in which to locate its prey ~ he could not sustain himself here.

She is planning on launching the rewrite in late Fall 2012, and will continue towards the saga's completion in the near future. Writing Description

My writing takes a poetic prose approach, full of descriptive tellings, while it builds its voice from the genre that is Fantasy.

Writing Goals

During my six weeks, my writing goal is to complete revising chapters in book one. My goal is to focus on approximately three chapters a day. I will be focusing on the "less is more" concept.

Fundraising Goals

This is my first fundraiser for a cause that is near and dear to my heart. I couldn't think of a more important fundraiser to participate in. I would like everyone that commits to this cause to support workshops such as those that the Clarions offer. Therefore, please help me reach my goal of $250. I believe it’s important to support Clarion West, so that people like me will have the opportunity to not only be just good writers, but great story tellers. I would like to thank everyone who donates to this worthy cause for supporting such an important part of any writer’s vision by giving us access to a workshop that hones one's skill.
