Potlatch 19 and Annual Meeting

Potlatch 19 is in Seattle March 5 – 7, with special Clarion West guests and events. Hugo Award winner David Levine (‘00), fresh from his (simulated) Mars mission, is there, as are Nebula Award winner Ellen Klages, Vonda N. McIntyre (who has won both awards and founded CW’s first incarnation to boot), and others including--we hope--you. You won’t want to miss our scholarship auction Saturday night at 8 p.m., featuring Octavia E. Butler memorabilia, signed first editions from Jack Cady, Charles de Lint, Kathe Koja, and others, and a range of beautiful and peculiar craft objects.

Friday at 8:45 p.m. we held a brief Annual Meeting, electing new Clarion West board members and officers. The short meeting was followed by a dessert reception and no-host bar.

Potlatch 19 is taking place in Seattle’s Hotel Deca, Friday, March 5 through Sunday, March 7, 2010. For more information on the convention and registering to attend, go here.

Over the last eighteen years, the scholarship auction at Potlatch has raised more than $45,500--a wonderful source of support for students who couldn’t otherwise afford to attend the workshop. Potlatch has also raised an additional $8,000 for general operating expenses. Please attend and show your support.
