Some people have had trouble with their posts marked as spam, meaning that the posts don't show up in the forums. There's a few reasons this can happen. The most common way is if you hit "submit" twice. The filtering software will mark both posts as spam, and may give you trouble with future posts.
There's a few other reasons you might get flagged, but this is the most likely. We've set our filters aggressively in order to avoid spamming, which
was a huge problem on the old version of the Forums.
To avoid this problem, please click "submit" only once, Give the server time to respond. If your account doesn't seem to work or your posts aren't showing up, drop us a note at forummaster@clarionwest.org and we'll get it straightened out.

More about spam
Another reason your posts might get marked as spam would be if they are spam. That is, post something with a sentence or two of apparently on-topic persiflage, then drop in a few spammy links to the kinds of things that spammers like to sell (and I'm not naming them here, because of course saying their names summons them like the demons they are), and a real human being will come along, think about it for a few seconds, and mark them as spam. Would the spam-terminator be a Spaminator, or would that be the spam-originator?
Vy's going to retire as the official hammer of spam soon, so we need another volunteer (I know there are other parts to the forum moderator job, but that's the only part suggestve of a superhero). It doesn't take a lot of time, you get to feel and be useful to your community, and you can make up your own cool title.
