Excerpt
Zed dug around in the box for some eyes. When he came up empty, he took a shot of vodka to steady his hands. Most nights when the urge to create fed his insomnia, he'd sit at his workbench at the back of the shop and make teddy bears, alphabet blocks, wooden whistles--anything he could sell. He'd filled half the shelves on those long nights, with the light from the streetlamps spelling "Abram's Toys" in shadows on the floor.

Writing Description
I enjoy playing with ideas, traditions, and expectations.
Goals
I'm starting a novel in June, and I'm planning to use the Write-a-thon to help me keep up the pace. My current goal is to write at least a chapter a week.
Financial goal: to raise more money than I raised last year. That would involve raising over $140. Who wants to help me set a new personal record?
