Sarah Brandel
Excerpt:
Bek skittered up the cryocoffin tower, reveling in the free movement of her limbs. After three months entombed in her craft, she pined for the primordial forests of Kol. The clustered gas exchange hoses and feeding tubes spilling from the ends of the coffins reminded her of the vines that wove the trees together.Higher, higher, her joints expanding, her arms stretching farther. When she made it to the top, she would see exactly what was in the thousands of coffins that filled the Drivers’ chariot.

Writing Description:
I write about what appeals to me at a particular moment, which ranges from science fiction to alternate history to ghost stories. I'm constantly puzzled when people label my writing as "horror," but my stories do tend to be somewhat dark.
Writing Goals:
I'm hoping to write solid drafts of three stories during the six weeks.
Fundraising Goals:
I have two friends who are attending Clarion West Writers Workshop this year, and I'm hoping to write along with them. But if someone would like to donate to give me a kick in the pants to keep up, that would be good, too.
