Excerpt
“I have to show you something.” A mammoth coal black horse stared down at Ben.
Talking horse? He looked higher. Mara sat astride.
“You want me to ride?” That hadn’t seemed so scary when he was nine and it was Brownie.
“That’s the plan.” She maneuvered the horse next to the fence.
He set his beer can down near the street light. “As long as I’m not driving.”
He climbed onto the low rail and wavered. She offered her hand. It was warm and tough with calluses across the palm and fingertips
“Don’t you remember how to get up?” She sighed.
He got it on the second try, barely. She caught him before he slid off Azza’s hindquarters and spent a minute calming the startled horse.
“Hold onto me, and whatever you do, don’t kick,” she said.

Goals
My goal will be to complete two chapters a week of a YA novel I have been working on in the last six-plus months. Also, my secondary goal will be to find it a decent title, because "Horses In Space" just won't cut it any more.
I'll be posting an open letter to my blog and harassing all my friends and neighbors with a total donations goal of $100. I would ask my parents, but they CLAIM they're already tapped out, something about college tuition...
