Excerpt
I envied my brother his love.
I envied him, but I had no part in Isaac’s death. I held no desire for broken wings.
We met her the fifth day of January when snow had settled, with its promise to only dust our lands. I had poured melted suet over sultanas and oats, and upended the hardened cupful on the porch railing for the blackbirds victimized by the weather, and was grateful I had: the storm had lied. Later that day it brought blustery gusts and ice, and then, once all potential for venturing to town in the gig had vanished, delivered Cordia.
Bio
I'm a member of the 2004 Clarion West class. I still teach kindergarten, balancing that with writing, and am surrounded by dogs (technically belonging to children) who have invaded my house.
Hijinks ensue. Frequently.
Writing Description
As much as I can, whenever I can convince myself it won't hurt. All over the map of the fantastic, with occasional forays into space opera or nonsense.
Goals
The goal is to take the novel I finished in January and begin the rewriting process. I had thought to complete half of the rewrite, but considering the traveling I'll be doing, I'm now reluctant to try more than 35k.
So, 35k it is.
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
