Excerpt

Yeast scents the drafty kitchen and wood chips glow in the cast-iron stove. Momma sets the dark brown bottle of elixir on the shelf, while Libby makes faces and tries not to cough. She struggles into Cissy's made-over coat with the new wolf-skin collar.

Momma must button it, though, for Libby remembers the winter morning her buttonholes grew teeth.

Bio

Marsha Sisolak wrangles kindergartners by day, her family (three adult children, one patient spouse, and dogs) at night, avoids Scout meetings (which everyone else attracts) and fantasizes about having written. She's the publisher of Ideomancer, an alumna of Clarion West, and is currently working on her second novel.

Writing Description

Eclectic.

Goals

I plan on completing a rough draft of a novel chapter a week. (Maybe two. Cross your fingers.)

Last year, I matched donations up to a total of $100. I'm going to do that again this year.
