­She passed through the sliding glass doors and entered a world of blue. Even parts of the floor were patches of blue. A guy behind the counter seemed to be standing in front of a flat blue screen. The blue bled onto his shirt and his cap. "Howdy," he said."Howdy." Nancy stopped at the edge of the patch of blue on the floor in front of the register, as if it were an abyss she might fall into. "I'm looking for a map. Of Dallas."

Writing Description: 
­My writing is like a desperate escape on foot from a slow-moving tidal wave. You end up in a closed room filled with dozens of small dogs who may or may not be hungry for your flesh.
Writing Goals: 
­I aim to conduct at least six interviews with my grandmother during the Write-a-thon and write 1,000 words of fiction, or a poem, each day. I aim to revise and submit at least five of these stories by the end of Write-a-thon.
