Excerpt

An excerpt from "Echoes of Insanity" (Dark Shadows Audio Drama)

WILLIE

[TERRIFIED] I’m scared, really scared.

ANGELIQUE:

Go inside the mausoleum, Willie. Confront your fear.

WILLIE:

[PANICKED] No!

RUSTY GATE CREAKS OPEN

WILLIE

My body wouldn’t obey me. I opened the gate and stepped inside. Everything told me to turn tail and run, but instead I reached up toward the carved lion’s head on the wall and pulled the ring in its jaw. A hidden door began to slide open.

SOUND OF STONE DOOR GRINDING OPEN

[FRANTIC] I knew I didn’t want to see what was inside that room.

I wanted to scream but I couldn’t make a sound.

Writing Description

When I was eight years old I discovered my love for writing. Since then, I've written short stories, very bad poetry, 3 novels, nonfiction articles, screenplays, teleplays, and now, audio dramas. I love writing horror, but I'm equally happy writing urban fantasy. Truth is, I just love writing, whatever it is.

Goals

I'll start off the write-a-thon with a novelist retreat June 20-29th to get my novel-writing chops in order, then concentrate on teaching an online writing class, writing a "Dark Shadows" script, and devoting a few minutes every day to keeping the momentum from the retreat going.
