Excerpt:
He looked to the south, where the cloister was, many miles distant. And, with the comfortable weight of his book in hand, he stepped off in a new direction, letting the wind’s song carry him where it would. He was older than he had been, and did not now move so easily as he had once. There were many pages left in the book, and much still to be written. But there would be time.
Bio:
I was born in Oklahoma, where I lived for many years. From a very young age, I wanted to be a writer, and it has honestly not entered my mind to be anything else. I have published speculative poetry in the ezines Cabinet des Fees and Goblin Fruit. I am working on my first novel, as well as several short stories and novellas, and I hope to attend Clarion West in 2012. I currently live and work in Utah.
Publications:
"At the Palace of the North Wind," a poem published in Cabinet des Fees"Diamonds and Toads," poem published in Goblin Fruit
Writing Description:
In my writing, I try to create fantasies that are both poetically rich and peopled with characters that are achingly human in their flaws and small triumphs. My heart has always had a great fondness for fairy tales and medieval romances, and that is very much reflected in the fictions I write.
Writing Goals:
My goals for the Write-a-thon are as follows:1) to write 3000 words every week2) to finally finish that novella that has been frustrating me for months now3) to complete the first chapter of my novelThat should do nicely, I think.
