Ama Patterson
Excerpt:
Mel winced in the obscene morning brightness and stumbled downstairs, pining for coffee. Halfway between the sink and the coffeemaker, he back-tracked to the kitchen window, blinking until the view came fully into focus. Yes. The grass was, in fact, greener on the other side of the fence. That was Mel's damn lawn, all 3,430 overpriced Verdi-Gen® square feet of it, sprawled peacefully in his neighbors’ yard, basking in the shade of the Norway maple whose roots straddled their property lines. Damn it. It was the third time that month.
